aseprite · experimental channel

Pixel art with an agent in the loop.

Hawknet connects Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or any MCP client to a running Aseprite editor. Your agent draws on the active sprite and gets the canvas back as an image after every step.

What your agent can do

01

A live wire to the editor

The daemon hosts a local WebSocket and the Aseprite extension connects in, running each command on your active sprite. Aseprite is the one Hawknet target that skips HTTP polling entirely.

02

Draw, then look

Your agent creates sprites, sets pixels, and renders the canvas back as an image after every step, so it sees exactly what you see.

03

Undo stays yours

Every change runs inside an Aseprite transaction. One undo reverts one agent step, the same as your own edits.

04

An early surface, labeled as such

Today the tool proves the live round-trip: create, draw, see. Layers, frames, tags, and palettes arrive in later phases on the same experimental channel.

Setup

Enabled in the installer

$ curl -sSfL https://hawknet.cloud.whitehawkgroup.net/install.sh | bash

Pick the experimental edition when the installer asks. One license key covers stable and experimental; experimental builds self-update on their own channel.

01

Install the experimental edition

Run the one-line installer and pick experimental when it asks. Your license key unlocks the download.

02

Let it wire Aseprite

The installer detects Aseprite and sets up the Hawknet extension. Aseprite connects out to the daemon and reconnects on its own after restarts.

03

Open a sprite and go

Reload your MCP client, open Aseprite, and the aseprite tool is live for your agent.
